GUMY 2020 Summer Mission Trips
Dates for summer mission trips have been set, as well as locations. This year, in all our locations (KC/Omaha/Chicago) we will have a blend of work sites. Students will be able to rotate through a variety of different service options. We can expect sites to be anything from food pantries (like Harvesters) to serving the homeless and hungry a meal (like NourishKC), doing manual labor (like Habitat for Humanity), engaging with the elderly and helping a local church do children’s studies and care.
Additional information and registration links can be found on the website: https://graceumc.church/

Mark your Calendars for a Hospitality Workshop on Saturday, January 25 from 8:30 to 10:30am at Grace UMC. A simple breakfast will be provided as we share and learn about cultivating a Culture of Hospitality in the church.
Glendora Davis, a local actress, play-writer, puppeteer, event planner, and church outreach coordinator will share her passion for the ministry of Hospitality. Growing up in Appalachia, Glendora fondly remembers the excitement and anticipation when the clarion call went out, “Company’s coming.” Daily she witnessed the simple, “Howdy, come up on the porch and sit a while. Can I get you some tea?” Since then, she has studied and observed models of hospitality in churches and business. She will provide ideas for refreshing and renewing the ministry of Hospitality in the church. RSVP to Pastor Cheryl at firstname.lastname@example.org or Kristi at email@example.com.
Everyone is Welcome and Invited
